In His time
A tale of heart
Liz: Why are you so sad today Emma ?
Emma: It’s been ten years Liz that my name is in top on the prayer list . God has yet not answered it. I feel my name will be taken out of it very soon, thinking it is not God’s will .
Liz: Oh No Emma! You should not think in that way. Does God work in our schedule? God works in His own schedule which is perfect for us. Do you know after 400 years of silence God sent His angel to Zacharias to bring the glad tidings? His silence didn’t mean He was not at work .
Emma: Oh yes Liz . The story of Zacharias and Elizabeth in the Bible always encourages me. I really admire Elizabeth to wait on God for years without being bitter .
Liz : Yes that’s what amazes me too, about Elizabeth. She was righteous and blameless before God irrespective of all the negative circumstances of her life! She teaches me to pray without ceasing, no matter whether it’s been 10,20 or 30 years of waiting on God. Our part is to pray, trust and wait for His time .
Emma: True Liz. In His time the Lord will make it happen. But sometimes I wonder when His time will be. The waiting at times really frustrates me and I wonder if it’s really God’s will for me to have it or not.
Liz: I understand Emma. But look at it, this way. All these waiting is a blessed opportunity for God to do something great in our life. Do you remember Abraham, Moses , David , Joseph ? They all had waited on God. We know that in the end God did wonderful miracles in their life. So if waiting can bring glory to God, let us be content with that.
Emma : Praise God. How can I forget such beautiful stories in the Bible?. I think whenever we feel down or get frustrated we should lift us up through the word of God which has wonderful teachings for us. All these saints of God were exactly like us and they teach us how to face everything in our lives.
Liz : Exactly Emma. Do you know Mary( mother of Jesus) when she says to angel “ Let it be to me as your word “ , she really knew what she was going to face . It would not be easy to face it. But she believed God and she surrendered completely to God’s will. Let this be our mantra “ Let it be to me as you say God “. If my barrenness brings glory to you let it be to me according to your will. If me being single brings glory to you, let it be to me as your word , Lord. If me being a stay-at -home-mom brings more glory to You let it be to me according to your word.
Emma : Oh Liz that really encouraged me . Let it be to me according to God’s will.
Liz : So Emma I hope you will not lose your hope but believe in every word of God which He will surely fulfill for you . In His time He will make it happen for you Emma. I pray that you will speak out your faith to others. When someone asks about your situation, you should never reply anything negative such as “Oh I don’t know if it’s God’s will or Oh I don’t think if I will ever get it” , but you should say “In His time God will give “ or “ If it’s God’s will, I will get it”. By saying in this way you are proclaiming about your God who is able to do the impossible. Our words should profess our faith .
Emma : Thank you so much Liz for such encouraging words. Let it be to me according to His will. And I completely believe that In His time The Lord will make it happen .
May God help each one of us to be like Emma and Liz to encourage , uplift and admonish each other . Like Elizabeth and Mary let us rejoice together with our sisters in Christ knowing that each one of us has a chosen path in which we have to walk focusing only on Christ .
